Betty E. Peters

Betty Peters, 89, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at LaSalle County Nursing Home.

Per Betty’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.  Her ashes will be scattered in Florida where she once lived and was fond of.  Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.

Betty was born February 13, 1933 in Earlville, the daughter of August and Rose (Guilde) Flicker.  She is survived by her children, Jacquelin (Ronald) Johnson, James Peters Jr., Jennifer (Donald Jr.) Wireman, and Alesha Peters; several grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren.  Betty was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Peters, and Gerry Comb; a brother, Robert Flicker, and a sister, Carol Rockwood.

Betty worked for Marathon Electric as an assembler for many years until she retired.  She attended Crossbridge Community Church.  In Betty’s retirement, she was an avid bingo player.  She was never one to sit still and was always on the go especially with her grandchildren.  She loved her family very much and will be missed.
