OTTAWA -Bertha Carroll Brewer, age 77, of Ottawa, passed away 11:33 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 2 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10 a.m. till service on Thursday. Bertha was born January 22, 1933 at Ottawa, Illinois, a daughter of Ray and Josephine (Telford) Brown. She married Warren G. Carroll July 3, 1949 at Ottawa. He preceded her in death May 8, 1962. She later married William Brewer August 14, 1977 at Georgetown, Illinois. He preceded her in death October 15, 1996. Surviving are her children, John (Joan) Carroll, Arnold (Linda) Carroll, Dorothy Kelly and Pam Carroll all of Ottawa. She also leaves a sister, Dorothy (Delbert) Nelson of Ottawa; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Warren, two daughters in infancy, a sister Mary and a special friend, Art Howie. Bertha was a member of the VFW Auxillary. She enjoyed playing Bingo in her leisure time.
