Belmyre “Bud” LeBeau, Sr., age 89, of Decatur, Illinois, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015 at Symphony of Decatur.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 21 st at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating. Interment will follow in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery with military rites by the Ottawa Veterans Group. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. till service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Belmyre was born March 5, 1925 in Ottawa, Illinois, a son of Emile and Mary (Michel) LeBeau. He married Rose Lokash September 3, 1971 in Champaign, Illinois. She preceded him in death August 18, 2011. Surviving are his children, Debra (Ronald) Cooper of Carthage, Missouri, Pamela (Stephen) Devera of Bloomington, Tara (Mike) Mills of Streator, Rebecca (Tad) Simpson of Decatur, and Edward (Tracy) LeBeau of Streator; and step-daughters, Carol (John) Griglione of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Roxene (James) Hart of Marseilles. He also leaves five brothers, four sisters, twenty-five grandchildren, fifty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Tris Greenwood and Belmyre LeBeau, Jr.; two brothers and two sisters.
Belmyre was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Naplate. He had been employed at Libby Owens Ford. Belmyre proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a former member of the VFW in Colorado Springs. He loved the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
