Beatrice Paula Wheeler, 85, of Ottawa, died Thursday morning, March 13, 2008, at home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Ottawa, with the Rev. Lourduraj Ignatius officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 on Sunday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rosary at 2:30 p.m. Mrs. Wheeler was born June 29, 1922, in Ottawa, to Peter and Teodora (Padilla) Padilla. She married Fred Wheeler on March 11, 1944, at St. Columba Church, Ottawa. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was employed at the Seneca Shipyards, Verona's Store. She worked on many projects for Marquette High School and modeled for Famous Department Store and worked for the Red Cross. She is survived by her husband, three sons, Michael of Peoria, Gerald (Dawn) of Bull Shoals, Ark. and James A. (Mary) of Dwight, Ill.; a daughter, Cynthia (Joseph) Giannuzzi of Syracuse, N.Y.; seven grandchildren Jeremy, Chris and Jessica Wheeler, Megan Novotney, Joseph and Jonathan Giannuzzi and (Jason Ruffin) and one great grandson; and two sisters, Mary Yusko and Rosemary (Aurellio) Pena. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Eleanor Monzano, Adelina Padilla, Tomisita Panti, Anita Zucker, Lucy Alvarado and two brothers, Larry and LaVerne Padilla. Pallbearers will be Robert Alvarado, Joseph Giannuzzi, Jonathan Giannuzzi, Jeremy Wheeler, Megan Novotney and Jason Ruffin. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church
