Arturo A. Velasco

Arturo A. Velasco, age 83, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Father Augustin Kassa officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Arturo was born August 2, 1932 in Aguascalientes, Mexico, the son of Arturo and Celia (Arteaga) Velasco. He married Maria Velasco (Madrid) in 1960 at Aguascalientes. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Maria; a daughter, Silvia (Juan Pablo) Garza of San Diego, California; a grandson, Johan Garza; four brothers and two sisters in Mexico; and many nieces and nephews in Ottawa, Chicago Heights, Minooka, Mexico, Indiana and Florida.
Arturo attended St. Columba Church. He retired from Caterpillar after thirty years of dedicated service. Arturo was a hard working family man who dearly loved his wife and family.
