Arthur J. Preci

Arthur J. Preci, 68, of Ottawa, passed away December 6, 2023 at OSF St. Elizabeth with his wife by his side.

Funeral services will be on December 15, 2023 at 6 p.m. at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Father Nicolas Wilson officiating.  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of service.

Arthur was born on March 26, 1955 in Ottawa, Illinois to Dominic and Patricia Preci.  He married Christine Oberholz on October 11, 1975 in Peru, Illinois.  Arthur started working for LaSalle County Sheriffs Department on February 1, 1988 and retired as superintendent of the jail after over 20 years of service.  He started working court security part time on January 2, 2013 until early 2023.  Arthur was an avid fisherman, gardener, handyman, reader, chef, and loved Jeopardy.  But most importantly, he was a loving husband, an adoring father, worlds best papa, a number one uncle, and a good friend.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Christine; two children, Ryan (Corey Pressler) Preci of Indianapolis, IN and Kayla (Damian) Fleming of Decatur, IL; two grandsons, Macklin and Brady Fleming; his dog, Barkley; his nieces and nephews and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Vi Preci; his in laws, Richard and Rose Oberholz, and his parents.
