Arlene L. Bastian

Arlene L. Bastian, age 98, of Ottawa, formerly of Marseilles, passed away 11:00 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the LaSalle County Nursing Home. Per Arlene's wishes, private interment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. There will be no visitation. Arlene was born April 20, 1912 in Rutland Township, LaSalle County, Illinois, a daughter of Francis and Ella (Thompson) Johnson. She married Donald S. Bastian December 1, 1949 at St. Charles, Illinois. He preceded her in death December 3, 1985. She is survived by a step-daughter-in-law, Lillian Schallhorn of Sheridan; and her neighbor and friend, Virginia Maier of Marseilles. Arlene was preceded in death by a brother, Myron Johnson.
