Ardath Mae (Carroll) Rensch

Ardath Mae Rensch, age 94, of Sun City West, Arizona, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Hospice of the Valley – Palm Valley, Goodyear, Arizona.

Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Pastor Donna Trinko officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ardath was born July 28, 1918 at Fulton, Illinois, a daughter of Leo Charles and Winifred Mabel (McNeill) Carroll.  She married John O. “Jack” Rensch October 31, 1937 at Crown Point, Indiana.  He preceded her in death June 21, 2004.  Surviving are her children, Carol Lee (Charles) Thompson of Sun City West, AZ, John O.B. (Martha) Rensch of Sewickley, PA, A. Kay Van Mol of DeKalb, IL, Deborah (Bob) Wilson of Palatine, IL and Jeffrey Scott Rensch of Harrisburg, PA.  She also leaves grandchildren, Tom Weingartner of Albuquerque, NM, Cara Herbig and Amy Bertram of Aurora, IL, Michelle Meusec of Chicago, IL, Tracey Meusec of Memphis, MO and Juline Rensch of Venice Beach, CA.  Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Ardath was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Ottawa where she used to teach Sunday School.  She was a founding member and first treasurer of the Community Hospital of Ottawa Ladies Auxillary, a member and past president of Delta Theta Tau and was a past member of the Ottawa Womens Club.
