Anthony M. Almeda, Jr., age 45, of Wheaton, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the DuPage County Convalescent Center in Wheaton. Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences at a funeral luncheon to be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Ottawa Moose Lodge. Interment will be at a later date. Gladfelter Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements. Anthony was born February 20, 1965 at Ottawa, Illinois, a son of Anthony and Beverly (Thompson) Almeda, Sr. His survived by his mother, Beverly Almeda; a brother, Clint both of Villa Park; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Anthony had been employed as a flight attendant for United Airlines. He loved to travel, loved life and loved helping people. He was known to "go the extra mile" to assist people from young to elderly. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.
