NAPLATE – Amelia “Mickey” Moats , 81, of Naplate, passed away Monday morning, October 21, 2013, at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Naplate with Reverend Michael Adrie celebrating. Entombment will follow in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Dannon Vogel, Joshua Smith, John Moats, Keenan Hertzner, Michael Moats, and Cassidy Smith.
Amelia was born October 26, 1931 in Ottawa, the daughter of Michael and Katherine (Yaleczo) Nanouski. She married Paul Edward Moats on March 27, 1951 in Ottawa. He preceded her in death January 8, 1994. Amelia is survived by her children, Cheryl (Richard) Hertzner, Gail (Jerry) Duttlinger, Gary (Cathy) Moats, and Wendy (Randy) Smith, all of Ottawa; two brothers, Joseph and Michael Nanouski, both of Naplate; and a sister, Theresa Ekdahl of Ottawa. She also leaves ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Steve Nanouski, and four sisters, Anna Kolotka, Mary Potasky, Olga Budach, and Pauline Carner.
Amelia was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Naplate. Memorial contributions may be directed to VITAS Hospice.
