Albert A. Alonzo

June 28, 1937 — October 13, 2015

OTTAWA – Albert A. Alonzo, age 78, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Charles Dillard officiating. Visitation will be held Kingdom Hall from 1:00 p.m. to the time of services. Gladfelter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Albert was born June 28, 1937 in Ottawa, Illinois, a son of Maurillio Alonzo and Josephina (Abarca) Alonzo.  He married Barbara Lisenbee on June 18, 1966 in Quincy, IL.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara; a daughter, Traci Alonzo of Ottawa; a son, Eric (Vicki) Alonzo of Ottawa; two brothers, Daniel (Carol) Alonzo of Diamond, IL, and Louie Alonzo of San Clemente, CA; five sisters, Josie Turner of Streator, Lana Alonzo of Spring Valley, IL, Rita (Alvin “Mort”) Cunningham of Streator, Lupe (Larry) Harms of Grand Ridge, IL, and Linda Fitchen of Quincy, IL; two grandchildren, James (Tara) Alonzo of and Kylie Alonzo, both of LaSalle, IL; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Gabriel Alonzo in infancy and Joseph and Cubert Alonzo and three sisters, Isadora Alonzo in infancy, Virginia Alonzo and Maria Vasquez.

Albert started his own business, Triple A. Janitorial Services Inc. in Ottawa in 1985 and has been in business ever since. Albert was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grand father. Albert never knew a stranger. He loved to share his knowledge and love of the bible with others. He will be sadly missed.
